Blood…blood…BLOOD…I struggled out of my drenched coat. The smell was intoxicating. I crawled away from the black mess, but I could not escape it, the blood…Something gripped my arm, I whipped around. Startled, Shendron took a step back.
“Uh, it’s ok, the things dead.” He was probably thinking I had lost my mind and was not used to all this gore…far from it…
Thump…I heard a deep thump…I shook my head, I was imagining things…no, there it was again. Shendron extended his hand. I took it, but at that moment, I knew what the noise was…his heart. He pulled me up.
“Can you stand?”
I had forgotten about my injuries in the battle, they had already healed.
“It was nothing…didn’t get through my boots!” I said laughingly. I had lied of course, the underside of my boots was sticky and charred. I still held his hand, his pulse stronger than ever. I pulled away. The spell must be wearing off. The Spell! It was in my coat pocket! I dropped to my hands and knees.
“Are you ok?” Shendron sounded concerned.
“Ah, yes…yes, I’m fine.” I began moving towards the blood…it wasn’t so difficult, it seemed to pull me, some unknown force taking me closer. My finger tips reached the edges of the mess, the blood had begun to harden. I needed to find my coat!
“What in Antaris’s name are you doing?”
“Nothin…oh!” I pulled my hands away, upon examining it there was a deep gash and a shard of blue glass. I cursed as I removed the glass. I gasped as I realized that the blood around me had once again turned into fluid running liquid…but it was red, and smelt…human…the blue bottle had broken and the remaining fluid now teased my senses by turning the demons blood human. I stood up in a moment. Completely healed…but covered in scarlet red…fresh…human blood.
“Uh, what a mess.” Shendron seemed to snarl.

Chanting, chanting close by.“Oh, that wizard will be the death of me!” groaned Shendron. He began to run towards the source. I still stood, transfixed. My mind was filled with RED…my throat cried for its thirst to be quenched…forgive me my friends…but I cannot help you now.
