Milk white skin, lush black hair, and a toothy smile greeted me as he lifted the lid off my coffin.
"Hi."
I looked at him rather blankly. He had disturbed my sleep...not that it was a very deep sleep, the nightmares had started again.
"Did I wake you?" He said softly.
I still looked at him, not saying a word. I indicated that I wanted to get out. He extended his hand, still smiling. I took it, and smiled back. His skin was smooth. He pulled me up and held me very close. He was young. I would guess just over 200 years old. He touched his nose to myne. I turned away and looked at the other waking vampires. All the coffins were open and they stood watching us. Pushing him away, I stepped out of the coffin. They watched me nervously, amazed at my age and strength, all vampires had the ability to sense this. I smiled. They relaxed a little, knowing my smile was not devious and that I meant them no harm. They were all very young. From about 100 to 500 years old...except for one. I looked up. He sat on a beam next to the chandelier. The candles made his skin sparkle and his orange eyes glow.
"It has been a while." I said softly.
"Yes...yes, it has...what, about 800 years now?"The old one said, his voice had changed somewhat. It was deeper, and more confident.
"My, you have changed, Tanu."
"Yes, so have you, Z'dir."
